This is one of a series of “classic beauties” photographed on the streets of Havana, Cuba during a fascinating trip in 2013 to that grand socio-political experiment. In 1962, 3 years after Castro’s successful revolution, the US imposed its embargo of Cuba which persists to this day. Trade being halted, no new US-made automobiles have entered Cuba. Some 60,000 of these “classic” cars have been and operate on the roads of Cuba.
