This image, which, while quite complex, is actually a single exposure. It was photographed at the Palacio de Montserrat in Sintra, Portugal. I was outside peering through the glass door when I noticed that where my body in shadow impeded the reflection, the actual scene became visible. The glass doorway at the other end of the palace’s long hallway created the illusion that it was inside my head. The camera is actually in front of my face on a tripod, the legs of which are “covered” by my shadowed body and outstretched arm.
